Ready-to-Use A1 Floors?

Directions for Use

Step 1: Prepare Surface

Before applying RexShield A1 Floors, the surface must be properly prepared for application. It is imperative to fully and completely clean the surface, as RexShield A1 Floors adheres by a covalent and mechanical bond with the surface. Clean the surface with a surfactant cleaner, making sure to remove all residue by flushing it with water. After drying, wipe the surface with 99% isopropyl Alcohol before proceeding with application.

Step 2: Prepare RexShield A1

RexShield A1 Floors is a one-part, floor sealer. Once ready to use RexShield A1 Floors, make sure the cap is tightened and secure and shake gently before use.

Step 3: Application of RexShield A1

Since RexShield A1 Floors is a floor sealer, there are several ways to apply this unique and innovative sealer. For example, it can be

  • Sprayed with a pump-up sprayer followed by a microfiber pad,
  • Sprayed and walk away,
  • Rolled with a 3/8″ microfiber paint roller,
  • Wiped on with a microfiber sponge following the grain of the surface,
  • Brushed on with a sponge paint brush, plus more!

On a non-porous substrate, a minimum of a two-person team is recommended for the entire application process—one person spraying the RexShield A1 Floors onto the surface and the second person gently guiding a microfiber pad behind the first person. (Porous substrates can be sprayed, then walk away, no microfiber pad needed.)

  1. Fill a HVLP gun or pump-up sprayer with a conical spray tip with the RexShield A1 Floors product.
  2. Pre-spray a microfiber pad liberally with RexShield A1 Floors (keep microfiber pad liberally wet at all times).
  3. Evenly spray RexShield A1 Floors onto the floor substrate in a circular motion, two-feet off of the floor (the conical tip of the wand should be right around the height of your knees in order to be around two-feet off of the floor).
  4. Immediately following the sprayer (first person), use a flat microfiber pad that is liberally wet with RexShield A1 Floors (second person) to spread the RexShield A1 Floors evenly onto the floor substrate.
Extra Notes

Once spraying starts, do NOT lift the microfiber pad at any time and do NOT use a figure-8 motion with the pad. Always start by spraying a workable area that allows a wet edge (three feet deep area from wall-to-wall) to be maintained during the application. Apply RexShield A1 Floors in straight lines of moving from wall-to-wall, 3/4 of the width from wall-to-wall, 1/4 of left to right, pull back to next row 3/4 of the width and return pad so 1/4 of right to left. Overlaps your way previously applied row and return pull from right to left. Work your way out of the room. Remember, RexShield A1 Floors is a one-coat system.

NOTE: Do NOT lift the pad off of the ground or use a figure 8 motion. Store the microfiber pad in a Ziplock baggie if need to stop at any point in time to avoid the product from drying on the pad and crystals forming on the pad which can cause streaks on the floor. Do not mix with water. Additional non-slip can be added if needed (e.g., 220-grit aluminum oxide, clear).

Maintenance & Clean Up & Storage

MAINTENANCE

For maintenance and best protection, we recommend the following:

  • Daily remove debris from substrate;
  • Daily vacuum, sweep and/or dust mop substrate;
  • Daily mop floors with hot water mixed with Safety Clean, as directed, then rinse with hot water and allow to dry;
  • Never apply other coatings to surface; and
  • Never use red or black pads.

CLEAN UP & STORAGE

Clean equipment immediately after use with 99% isopropyl Alcohol. Store any remaining RexShield A1 Floors in a cool, dry place with the cap tightened and secure. If the cap is not sealed when originally received, the product will not be usable.
